The TRN Key operates most gate valves with rounded nuts. The TRN Key is used by first-responders in emergency shutdown situations.

The TRN Key Socket is made up of interjaws which grip the rounded valve nut and an outer shell which is driven over the inner jaws locking them to the valve nut. The valve is then able to be turned.
